Trouble-shooting Tips
If you are having trouble with WindowMizer not working as expected, please review the issues/solutions below to see if one of them resolves the problem.
The most common cause of odd behavior is misconfigured System Settings. Please Confirm that the System Settings are properly configured.
Windows do not collapse when double-clicking the title bar
This issue is typically caused when the System setting for "Window title bar double-click action" is set to something other than No Action. Change the setting and try again.
Thumbnail windows have desktop background / Windows disappearing
This issue is typically caused when WindowMizer has not been added to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen & System Audio Recording category. Confirm that WindowMizer is the list and enabled.
WindowMizer does not work in XYZ application
If WindowMizer works in general, but does not work in some particular application, please try each of the following tests,
one-at-a-time.
Try the 1st suggestion and
test, then try the 2nd suggestion and
test. The 3rd option
will reset the settings, this will undo the settings changes made in the first two tests below.
Test one more time.
- Try using the global shortcut (cmd+M) from within a couple of apps to test if WindowMizer is working at all.
- Add the uncooperative application to WindowMizer Settngs > Applications panel, and set the "Title Bar double-click handling" to the "System Event Tap" option. Test before trying the next suggestion!
- As a final attempt, go to WindowMizer Settings > General > System Related tab, and click the button to "Reset ALL WindowMizer Settings to default values...". Then, Quit and relaunch WindowMizer.
