Hide desktop icons behind a full-screen overlay. Two tabs: Desktop Icon Hider and Desktop Background.
Desktop Icon Hider tab
- Enable Desktop Icon Hider
Master switch for the icon-hiding overlay.
- Hide Icons when Opening the Application
Hides icons automatically at launch when enabled.
- Global Shortcut to Toggle Desktop Icons
Keyboard shortcut to show or hide desktop icons.
- Play Sound Effect
Plays the selected sound when toggling icons, when enabled on this panel.
- Hide Icons / Show Icons
Immediate toggle buttons for testing.
Desktop Double-click Action
- Hide / Show Desktop Icons
Double-click the desktop with the chosen modifier keys to toggle icons.
- ⌘ Command / ⌥ Option / ⇧ Shift
Modifier keys required with the desktop double-click.
Desktop Background tab
- Desktop Background when Hiding Icons
Choose what appears as the desktop wallpaper when icons are hidden.
- Solid Color / Single Picture / Current Wallpaper
Background source options. For current wallpaper, the wallpaper is selected via System Settings. For single picture, the selected picture will be copied to the WindowMizer support directory, so the original picture can be moved without breaking the icon overlay feature.
- Border Fill Color:
Fill color when a picture does not cover the screen.
- Picture Scaling
No Scaling, Fit to Screen, or Fill Screen for a single picture.
- Select... / Clear
Choose or remove a static picture file.
